TRAFFIC on the Kessock Bridge was impeded this morning after a north-bound car struck the central barrier.

Police said the emergency services were alerted at 9.25am that there had been a traffic incident on the bridge, but there are no reports of injury from the crash involving a black Renault Zoe.

Traffic Scotland said initially that one lane was blocked by the incident but "traffic was coping" with police and their Incident Support Service on scene.

With one lane blocked there was a tailback and some delay, especially when the vehicle was being recovered.

This operation was carried out speedily, and the major route north was reopened fully by 10.30am.
