A9 reopens after three-vehicle accident in the Highlands

A MAJOR Highland road closed yesterday following a three-vehicle accident has reopened.

The accident on the A9 at around 6.45pm yesterday evening prompted closure of the main Highland transport artery near Kingussie.

Diversions were put in place while police investigated the scene.

Police issued confirmation the route had reopened earlier this morning, adding: "Drivers are thanked for their patience."

Police have not yet given details of the accident or confirmed whether anyone was hurt in the incident.
