The A9 has reopened at Lothmore after an earlier accident left the trunk road closed for several hours.

Police said two motorcycles were involved in a collision and the route was closed in both directions while investigations took place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a crash between two motorcycles on the A9 Victoria Road, Brora around 11.20am on Tuesday, September 20.

“A woman and a man have been taken by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.”

Traffic Scotland says the carriageway has now reopened.
