A9 at Slochd summit closed in both directions due to serious crash involving two HGVs

The A9 road is closed in both directions due to a serious collision involving two HGVs near the Carrbridge junction.

The two goods vehicles are understood to have been involved in an accident in the early hours of this morning.

A police spokesman said: “Around 4.15am on Friday September 30 police received a report of a serious road crash on the A9, near the Carrbridge junction.

“Emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is currently closed between Inverness and Carrbridge.

“Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the accident.

Diversions are as follows:

NORTHBOUND

Turn right at Granish onto A95 and follow the road until Dulnain Bridge. Turn left onto A938 and continue until the A9 junction.

Distance 18.7 miles

SOUTHBOUND

Turn left at A938 junction onto the A938 until Dulnain Bridge. Turn right onto A95 continue until the A9 junction at Granish.

Distance 18.7 miles
