'A lot of fun was had': Lairg Gala Week's over 60s Christmas party goes with a swing

A Christmas party for older residents in a Sutherland community went with a swing last Saturday.

Lairg Gala Week holds an annual party for people over the age of 60 in the area.

The party took place at Lairg Community Centre and light refreshments were served.

There was a good turnout for the popular event held in Lairg Community Centre.

Monica's Ceilidh Band from Rogart provided the music and there were plenty of party games,

Light refreshments were served and Santa and his elves made an appearance.

A spokesperson for Lairg Gala Week said: "A lot of fun was had and everyone enjoyed the party.

"We also celebrated Sheila Legge's upcoming 80th birthday and she was presented with a Christmas bouquet of flowers from the Gala Week team."

The Christmas 200 Club draw was held with Laurean Fowles Mackay winning the top prize of £500.
