The owner of Inverness' newest restaurant says that their food is built around "love and respect".

Love Dosa (pronounced Doe-sha) was opened by husband and wife, Ali Sunkaran and Fazila Ajikumar, on Mealmarket Close in order to bring South Indian cuisine to the city.

Having come on holiday to Inverness two years ago their family of four fell in love with the place, and eight months later they moved from their home in Chelmsford to start their life in the Highland capital.

Fazila said: "We had Love Dosa in Chelmsford for nine years, but we sold it when we decided to move to Inverness.

"After a year of being here, all the family really missed the business so we decided to open up here in Inverness."

Providing good food and sustainability is what the family-run business is passionate about.

"We really try hard not to bin food, so we will always tell people to order less if they do come", added Fazila.

"I think that good quality, quantity and consistency is the key for us.

"We cook the food with love and respect to provide energy for people, and we hope that they eat it with love and respect too."

Two very special people behind Love Dosa is Anjalie and Mythili, who are very excited about the new restaurant.

Fazila said: "Our children grew up in the business and they are so happy that we have opened up again.

"They love chatting to customers and meeting new people!"

Fazila hopes to start providing cooking classes at some point soon, so that people can come and find out how the different dishes are made.

"My dream is to one day open a menu-less restaurant, where we make different meals each day and people can come and try new food, and we can eliminate food waste at the same time", she commented.

Lova Dosa is planning to be at the heart of the Inverness community, and the ethos behind it is to serve locals throughout the year.

Fazila concluded: "So far the support we have received from everyone has blown me away.

"We can't wait to start putting on more events with specials meals for the community too."

The restaurant and takeaway is open on Mondays from 5.30pm – 10pm, and Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm – 2pm and 5.30pm – 10pm.
