A 17-bedroom hotel on the NC500 in Wester Ross has gone on the market for offers over £950,000.

The Old Inn & Brewhouse in Gairloch is understood to date back to the 18th century and is being marketed as "unique opportunity" in an area with significant pulling power in the tourism market.

Selling agent Graham and Sibbald, acting as agents for the seller, said: "The business is brought to the market with a stellar reputation and a strong business track record."

Potential buyers are being told: "This is a unique opportunity to purchase a freehold hotel in the Highlands on the popular NC500 route. This impressive 17-bedroom hotel in Gairloch is a popular spot for locals and tourist alike."

The property also includes a bar, restaurant, owners' accommodation and planning permission for nine lodges.

Those considering the property are advised it had a pre-Covid turnover of £850,000. In 2022/23 it was £630,000 "with rooms close to pre-Covid levels and food and beverage improving year on year." It says accounts for the business "will be provided following a successful viewing appointment".

The selling agent states: "The sale of The Old Inn and Brewhouse offers a new owner the chance to purchase a profitable hotel business in the picturesque Highlands. This hotel for sale is a remarkable opportunity to own a lifestyle business on the NC500 route. The Old Inn and Brewhouse offers a new owner the chance to buy a piece of history in Scotland and host and entertain locals and visitors from across Scotland and beyond."

It says the business is being sold as the owners move towards retirement "offering a great opportunity for a new enthusiastic owner".

The detached two-storey property is of traditional construction under a multi-pitched slate-covered roof.

Would-be buyers are tempted with a position adjacent to Gairloch Harbour that sits on the North Coast 500.
