Reunion for former Sutherland Tech lads
THREE former Sutherland Technical School classmates of 1964 met for the first time in 52 years at the weekend in Easter Ross.
David Burns (left) from Achrimsdale, Brora; David Ross (centre) from Navidale; and Willie Mackay from Embo got together through a chance meeting on a Facebook site.
They couldn’t believe the years that had passed and their friendship was as strong as the day they left the tech which is now Highland Council offices at Drummuie, Golspie.
Both David Burns, now living in Alness, and David Ross, living in Dunfermline, have retired. Willie Mackay of Watten is a Highland councillor for Landward Caithness and still runs the AI cattle breeding service in the county.
All three are now going to keep in regular touch.
