Highland Police Scotland officers charge a woman over A9 crash in Caithness near Latheron that left a motorcyclist in ‘critical condition’ in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a crash on the A9 which left a motorcyclist in intensive care.
The crash, which involved a black motorcycle and a grey car, took place on the busy trunk road close to Latheron at around 9.50am on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital as a precaution and later released.
In an update issued shortly before 3pm on Monday, police confirmed that the motorcyclist remained in a “critical condition” and have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
They added that one woman was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area at the time, to contact us as soon as possible.”
