Storm Pia wipes out eight flights to and from Inverness Airport with 80mph gale warning for the Highlands
High winds have grounded eight fights to and from Inverness Airport as Storm Pia batters the Highlands.
Loganair’s early morning LM591 and LM151 flights to Manchester (06.30) and Benbecula (07:00) were cancelled, with the same airline’s 10.30 LM131 service to Sumburgh set to follow.

KLM’s 13:25 flight from Inverness to Amsterdam (KL0930) has also been cancelled.
Corresponding return flights have also been cancelled, including the LM592 10:00 arrival from Manchester, the LM152 11.05 arrival from Benbecula, the KLM KL0929 12:55 arrival from Amsterdam and the LM130 14:35 arrival from Sumburgh are also grounded.

Winds of up to 80 mph have been forecast for today amid a yellow weather warning across Scotland.
A HIAL spokesman said: “Several flights at Inverness Airport have been impacted due to high winds this morning. We advise customers to contact their airlines for the latest flight information.”
