Dornoch Festival Week kicks off with exotic animal rescue show





Dornoch Festival Week kicked off today with an exotic animal rescue show.

The Nairn-based charity Scottish Exotic Animal Rescue (SEAR) brought along a variety of invertebrates to the event held in the festival week marquee in Meadows Park.

Species on display included a bearded dragon lizard and an albino royal python.

SEAR staff helped children hold the invertebrates and shared fun facts about them including that the bearded dragon lizard has a “third eye” and that the albino royal python dislocates its jaws when it eats.

SEAR was founded in 2010 and has since found new homes for well over 100 snakes, lizards and other species.
