East Sutherland Wheelers host major cycling event at Rogart.
East Sutherland Wheelers welcomed cyclists from across the north to Pittentrail Hall last Saturday for two open timetrial events to compete at the Rogart 10 mile TT and the Knoockarthur Hilly.
Dan Long of (Elgin Cycling Club) and Audrey Scott (East Sutherland Wheelers) were victorious in the 10 mile event with Callum Craib ( Forres CC) the lead junior. In the Hilly event Rhoda Kennedy (Ross-shire Roads CC) and Lewis Day (RT23) were the fastest, with Callum Craib again taking the junior prize.
Both were established events on the north cycling calendar but had not resumed since their cancellation in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
A club spokesman said, “It is good to see the ESW events back on the calendar and great to have two of our members on both podiums.
