Wick golfer Dougie Thorburn wins North Golf Winter Alliance fixture at Brora Golf Club

Wick golfer Dougie Thorburn won the latest round of the North Golf Winter Alliance at Brora Golf Club.

He won the fixture by two shots hitting a 71 ahead of Tain golfer Munro Ferries who finished with a 73.

In the category one section, Durness golfer Paul Mackay came out on top with a net 69.

He was two shots ahead of Brora's Tony Gill who recorded a net 71 and Wick's Owen Cormack with a net 72.

Alan Craigie of Thurso won the Category Two section with a net 64, one shot ahead of Neil Macrae of Durness with 65 and five shots ahead of Charlie Finlayson of Tain with a 69.

Maggie Jamieson of Golspie won the ladies competition with a net 74, one shot ahead of Sarah Meiklejohn of Thurso with a 75.
