Sutherland record biggest win of the season as they defeat Orkney in Highlands and Islands League clash
Sutherland Women recorded their biggest win of the Highlands and Islands League season as they defeated Orkney 11-1 at Golspie.
Bethany Sutherland was on fire as she scored six times including the opener. Rachael Sutherland got the second for the hosts with Bethany Sutherland grabbing the third. Roxy Lewis then found the net with a well placed shot to bring the score to 4-0.
Rachael Sutherland got her second to make it 5-0 with Bethany Sutherland getting a hat-trick to make it 6-0. Lewis found the net again to make it seven with Bethany Sutherland then scoring three more goals to bring them to double figures.
Orkney did pull one back, but Simone Coles completed the rout to make it 11-1.
Sutherland are in third place in the league on six points and just three points behind league leaders Buckie.
Sutherland are in action at Back Park in Castletown on Sunday when they face Caithness in the Highlands and Islands Cup with kick-off at 2pm.
