Four goals in the last 20 minutes condemned Brora Rangers to defeat at Keith.

Brora survived an early penalty scare when Stuart Golabek and Keith’s Craig McGovern came together in the box but the referee waved away appeals from the home players.

Steve Martin in the Brora goal was called on to make a good save from an Andy MacAskill free kick, then watched McGovern fire wide of the target as the home side continued to press.

Brora came close in the 16th minute when an Alex MacLeod shot was deflected just past the upright. Gary Kerr was then desperately unlucky with an effort which crashed off the post before being scrambled clear for a corner.

At the other end, McGovern forced another fine save from Martin as Keith finished the half on top.

The home side finally made the breakthrough in the 69th minute when McGovern scored at the near post after Brora failed to clear their lines.

Keith doubled their lead six minutes later when Dean Donaldson and Cammy Keith combined to set up Sean Keith who fired home from close range.

It got worse for Brora 10 minutes later when Cammy Keith pounced after an Odmar Faeroe header rebounded off the crossbar.

Donaldson added a fourth goal a minute later when his cross-cum-shot flew in at the back post. But the final scoreline was a bit harsh on Brora who played well for long spells in the match.

Brora Rangers:- Martin, Ross, MacLean, Golabek, Gibb, Lamont, Edwards, Jones, Kerr, MacLeod, Baxter. Subs:- Moir, Munro, MacKintosh, Finlayson, McCarthy.
