Brora Rangers confirmed Kyle Macleod has left the club after signing a permanent deal with Highland League rivals Forres Mechanics
Brora Rangers have confirmed striker Kyle Macleod has left the club and signed for Forres Mechanics.
The 29-year-old had been on loan at Mosset Park from the Cattachs this season but a deal has been agreed to make the move permanent.
Macleod re-signed for Brora Rangers last season from Buckie Thistle having previously played for the club between 2017 and 2019.
He spent four years at Buckie Thistle before returning to Brora Rangers in 2023.
He was part of the Brora Rangers team that lifted the Highland League Cup last season when they defeated Fraserburgh on penalties in Inverurie.
Macleod was on loan at Forres Mechanics from the beginning of the season, but has now agreed a two-year-deal.
Forres manager Steven MacDonald is pleased to capture his services on a permanent basis.
He said: “Kyle has not only been excellent on the pitch but he's very popular with his teammates and is a real leader so we are delighted to secure him permanently.”
Last weekend, Brora Rangers went top of the Highland League after beating Inverurie Locos 3-2 at Harlaw Park.
They fell behind eight minutes before half time when Michael Finnis deflected a Milosz Ochmanski cross into his own net. But Brora equalised when Connor Bunce, who joined from Clachnacuddin in November, nodded home a header from a Tony Dingwall free-kick.
Finnis then put Brora Rangers ahead in the 57th minute when got on the end of a Craig Mackenzie free-kick in the box and fired home.
Inverurie Locos looked like they salvaged a point when they were awarded a penalty four minutes from time which Paul Coutts converted.
But former Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender Wallace Duffy, who arrived at the club last month after leaving Strathspey Thistle, scored the winner in the 92nd minute to send Brora Rangers top of the table.
