The Highland League made the decision to call all fixtures off with a weather forecast predicting winds of at least 50 miles per hour throughout the afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "Following a meeting of Office Bearers, the entire Breedon Highland League programme for today has been postponed.

"Prevailing weather conditions are sufficiently poor to make travel hazardous and current travel advice reflects that.

"In addition, forecast weather conditions for the afternoon make the possibility of late postponements more likely."

The nine matches called off are:

Brechin City v Nairn County

Buckie Thistle v Brora Rangers

Deveronvale v Clachnacuddin

Fraserburgh v Wick Academy

Huntly v Formartine United

Inverurie Locos v Fort William

Keith v Lossiemouth

Rothes v Strathspey Thistle

Turriff United v Forres Mechanics
