Seniors champion is crowned at Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Gary Bethune claimed victory at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club seniors championship.

Gary Bethune led the way in the Seniors championship at Royal Dornoch and received the salver from men’s captain Willie MacKay.

He just missed out on winning a double when he was edged out of the handicap title when he was beaten by Cliff Martin of Scottsdale, Arizona.

He won thanks to a better score in the final round.

The seniors handicap was won by Billy Mitchell, who hails from Nashville, Tennessee.

In the handicap section, new member Fran Robertson beat Fiona MacDonald by four holes with two to play to claim her first title.
