Pair agree new deals to stay at Highland League champions Brora Rangers

DALE Gillespie and Colin Williamson have agreed new deals to commit their long-term careers to Highland League champions Brora Rangers.

Midfielder Gillespie (32) has agreed a new three-year deal which will see him stay at the club until at least the end of the 2023/ 2024 season.

Central defender Williamson (31) has signed a four-year deal which will see him remain with the Cattachs until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Williamson joined Brora Rangers from Clachnacuddin in 2014, and over the last seven years has been rated as one of the top defenders in the Highland League.

Gillespie is in his second spell with Brora Rangers having initially signed from Nairn County in 2012.

He then left Dudgeon Park to sign for Rothes in 2017, but returned to Sutherland the following season.

Meanwhile, Brora Rangers are preparing to face Turriff United in the Highland League at Dudgeon Park tomorrow as they look to close the gap on leaders Fraserburgh.

Brora Rangers are in fifth place and 13 points behind the Highland League leaders, but they do have two games in hand on the Buchan outfit.

Meanwhile, Brora Rangers cruised into the first round of the Highland League Cup thrashing Fort William 10-1 at Dudgeon Park on Wednesday night.

The Cattachs raced into a 3-0 lead with two goals from Andrew Macrae with Gillespie also finding the net.

Blessing Tshibikubula pulled one back for Fort William to make it 3-1 at half-time. But Brora ran riot in the second half. Jordan Macrae scored a hat-trick with Gillespie finding the net again and goals from Alasdair Sutherland, Harry Hennem and Matthew Wright. Brora head to Wick in the first round on November 13.
