GREG Morrison believes one goal can revive Brora Rangers’ pyramid play-off prospects when they head to Kelty Hearts tomorrow.

The Cattachs’ attacker admitted his team let themselves badly down in Tuesday evening’s one-sided capitulation at Dudgeon Park.

The 2–0 defeat in the first leg – sustained despite two early penalty kick saves from keeper Joe Malin – left confident Kelty Hearts firmly in the driving seat.

The Sutherland team looked completely out of sorts against the Lowland League champions, who were packed with Scottish league experience but hadn’t played a competitive match since January.

But with a play-off final against Brechin City still there for the taking, former Ross County youth Morrison isn’t ready to throw in the towel on SPFL ambitions quite yet.

“It is only half-time in the tie,” Morrison said.

“One of the positives is that Kelty came away with just two goals, despite the fact it could have been worse for us. Our goalkeeper spared us with two penalty saves and they created a few other chances as well.

“Joe Malin’s saves should have given us a lift, but for one reason or another it just didn’t happen for us, it only got worse.

“While it sounds bad, fortunately it is just two. The tie is still winnable and we will go down there believing that.

“One goal and we are back in it – we will have the momentum. It’s still up for grabs.”

Morrison feels his team-mates can draw inspiration from past performances and proven character.

“The Hearts game is the freshest example, but when we won the league title the season before last we were often up against the wall and got ourselves over the line,” the 23-year-old said.

“We just need to believe in ourselves. We have done it before and we can do it again.”
