The chairman of Dornoch Cricket Club says his Development league new boys are showing they can hold their own against league opposition, after adding to their promising start with a convincing win against Fochabers at the Meadows on Sunday.

Chair Matt Millward, who also leads the club’s batting averages so far this season, said, “We are happy to be competing against all the sides we have come across so far.

“It’s been great to see many of our squad contribute across the four matches.

“We look forward to giving continued opportunities to the folk in the north of Scotland as they take on cricket for the first time alongside some experienced players.

“We are also excited to see how far we can go in our remaining fixtures, winning three of our four fixtures so far.”

Again, fielding a side that mixes experience with youth, the hosts dismissed their Moray visitors for just 107.

In reply, the home side chased down the target comfortably.

Stuart Tode made 14, while Khalid Baigh added 21 before being caught and bowled. Schleter finished the job with an unbeaten 24 to secure the points.
