The Cattachs will begin their league campaign away to Keith on Saturday, July 23 as they aim to win their fifth championship and look to get promoted to League Two.

Brora finished a disappointing fourth in the Highland League last season, 15 points behind champions Fraserburgh. However, they did finish the season on a high winning the Highland League Cup beating Buckie Thistle 2–1 in the final.

Campbell, who took over as manager from Steven Mackay last season after he resigned after two matches, says he knows what the expectations that his team have to live up to going into the new campaign.

"I am under no illusion, I have been told by the board we are expected to win trophies," he said.

"We finished the league season on a high winning a trophy, but our league form was not good enough last season.

"We let ourselves down in the big games.

"That was down to me, I was new to management and we didn't set up properly, that is something that we are working on."

Campbell was speaking as Brora Rangers suffered a 1–0 defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday in a pre-season friendly and are now preparing to face Ross County at Dudgeon Park on Wednesday night.

He expects the three teams that finished above them last season to be among the main contenders to win the Highland League.

But he also thinks Banks O'Dee, who were promoted to the Highland League this season, and won the Aberdeenshire Cup and Aberdeenshire Shield beating the top teams in the Highland League to get there, will also be an intriguing prospect.

" It will be a competitive league with Buckie Thistle, Fraserburgh and Brechin City all of a high standard," said Campbell.

"You can't rule out the likes of Inverurie or Formartine who will be keen to impress.

"The new boys Banks o'Dee are coming in this season and they will not be like Fort William.

"They are a better standard of football team coming into the league which we want and that is what the pyramid system is all about.

"You want to get the best teams playing as that makes it more competitive for everyone, and everyone comes out better for it."
