Kenny wins shoot-off for high gun
HIGHLAND Deephaven Clay Pigeon Club held a 50DTL winter series on Sunday, sponsored by the Henderson family from Ardgay.
The weather was wet, cold and windy for the 27 shooters who took part, and this was reflected in the overall scores.
In the first 25 it was William Wright, Garve, who managed to put red on the board with a 25/73. The only participants who managed to come close to him were David Morello, Drumnadrochit, and Angus Cameron, Evanton, both on a 24/68.
The scores slightly improved in the second half as did the weather.
Kenny Ross, Achnasheen, came in with a perfect 25/75, while Sam Hunter, Lochinver, was on 25/74.
When all the scores came in there was a tie at the top for high gun on 140, and a tie for the juniors on 118.
Kenny Ross and Sam Hunter shot off for the title with Kenny claiming victory while the junior shoot off was between Neil Sutherland, Ardgay, and David Hunter, Lochinver, with David winning the juniors trophy.
Catherine Fraser, Inverness, won the ladies on a 46/134, Sandy Gall, Invergordon, won the veterans on a 46/136 and Ian Grant, Bonar Bridge, won the novice on a 34/96.
All the trophies were presented by Amy Ann Grant, three year old granddaughter of Douglas and Ann Henderson.
