Juniors come out on top in Caddies Cup at Royal Dornoch Golf Club
ROYAL Dornoch Golf Club rounded off the junior season with the Caddies Cup which took place on Saturday.
The finale of a successful junior season at Royal Dornoch Golf Club saw Mary McFall and Alex Innes take the honours.
Dornoch Academy pupil Mary (15) captured a Girls Championship trophy presented to the club in the 1960s.
Alex (17) attends Tain Academy and he lifted the Caddies Cup, which dates to 1921.
The club’s junior section was formed in 1965 to encourage local youngsters to take up golf.
It comes after the team from Royal Dornoch were named Junior Club of the Year at the Go
After attending the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am, Royal Dornoch were among the 100 guests who attended the event in the Wentworth Clubhouse, as the Golf Foundation celebrated the great and good of junior golf up and down the United Kingdom in the past 12 months.
The ceremony was hosted by Golf Foundation president Nick Dougherty, who handed out awards for individual impact, lifetime achievement, school success and community project, as well as the junior club title Royal Dornoch received.
