Golspie Golf Club hosted this year’s East Sutherland Primary School’s golf competition.

Sixteen young golfers representing themselves individually as well as their schools, competed over nine holes at the beautifully maintained and atmospheric course.

Despite a couple of very heavy rain showers, impressive results were achieved by the boys' and girls' winners, with Jamie Macdonald (Golspie) and Ella MacGregor (Brora) both scoring 48.

Second placed girl was Mikaela Mackay and third was Erin Holden, both Dornoch.

Second placed boy was Fergus Munro (Golspie) and sharing points for third place were Keiran Allen and Ali Morrison, both Dornoch.

The team cup was won by Golspie boys.

Active schools co-ordinator, Louise Nadin, thanked Sheila Robertson from Golspie Golf Club who had done so much to organise the event and ensure that the young players enjoyed a warm welcome.

Louise said: "We are extremely fortunate that we have such good local facilities and clubs who are so keen to support and encourage the next generation of golfers."
