Heavy frost claims three Highland League fixtures ahead of further pitch inspections

Pitch inspections are planned ahead of today’s Highland Football League fixture calendar, with three games already hit by heavy frost.

Games between Rothes v Lossiemouth, and Inverurie Locos v Brechin City both failed morning pitch inspections, with further inspections planned into the afternoon.

Strathspey Thistle v Wick Academy was postponed yesterday with Seafield Park under a layer of frost.

The league now await the outcome of pitch assessments planned ahead of 3pm kick offs.

Turriff United v Formartine United - 11am

Huntly v Deveronvale - noon

Nairn County v Clachnacuddin 1pm

At present, Brora Rangers v Forres Mechanics and Fraserburgh v Buckie Thistle are both scheduled to go ahead.

Elsewhere, a full card of fixtures is planned to take place in the North Caledonian League today, kick off at 1pm as below:

Bunillidh Thistle v St Duthus

Golspie Sutherland v Thurso

Invergordon v Fort William

Inverness Athletic v Alness United (played at the Highland Football Academy, Dingwall)

Halkirk United v Bonar Bridge

Orkney v Clachnacuddin ‘A’
