EAST Sutherland Wheelers were delighted with the turnout at the third Dunrobin Castle cyclocross race at Golspie , which attracted 47 riders from as far afield as Dunfermline and Orkney.

This year the event was round two of the Scottish Cycling North Cyclocross series and the final round takes place at Brahan, near Dingwall on February 26.

The Dunrobin course challenged riders with an initial lung-busting climb from sea level up to the castle followed by laps of mainly off road single track featuring roots, grass and lots of mud.

Under 12s rode a shorter but equally challenging course and their race was fiercley contested.

The club are grateful to Sutherland Estates, BEAR Scotland and Golspie Community Council for their support.
