Golspie Sutherland are North Caledonian League Division One champions after win in Orkney and Invergordon lose in Thurso

GOLSPIE Sutherland have been crowned North Caledonian League Division One champions.

A 1–0 victory against Orkney in Holm along with Invergordon losing 3–1 at Thurso gave Golspie the title with a game to spare.

Liam Bremner scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time which was enough to give Golspie victory.

Invergordon did take the lead in Thurso through Jordan Knight after eight minutes.

But Thurso equalised instantly through James McLean.

Innes Mackintosh put Thurso in front after 29 minutes with Cameron Montgomery putting the Vikings 3-1 in front after 56 minutes.

Golspie Sutherland have won the league for the 11th time and it is their first title since 2019.

Golspie Sutherland will be presented with the title at their final game of the season against Orkney on Saturday, June 26.
