Golfers to take on best in the Highlands and Moray at North Championships

Golfers from Sutherland have entered the Scottish Golf North Championship which will take place at Inverness Golf Club on Sunday, May 29.

The event will take place at Inverness Golf Club where golfers from across the Highlands and Moray will be taking part.

Royal Dornoch will be represented by Allan Cameron, Kyle Egan and Michael Schinkel.

Brora Golf Club will also have two golfers playing in the competition with Connor Hall and Ross Naismith scheduled to be representing the club.

Tee times have been released for the competition this week with Cameron set to play with Fraser Fotheringham of Nairn Golf Club and David Joel of Inverness Golf Club at 8am and 1pm.

Naismith will play with Greg Forsyth and Craig Smith at 8.50am and 1.50pm.

Hall will tee off with James Fraser of Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club and Jamie Mackintosh of Nairn Golf Club at 9am and 2pm.

Egan and Schinkel tee off with Regan Main of Nairn Golf Club at 9.10am and 2.10pm.

Meanwhile, Royal Dornoch Golf Club are set to send two teams to the Ladies Three Team Golf Competition at Tain Golf Club next Friday.

Alison Bartlett, Liwa Dickenson and Anne Harding will tee off at 11am.

Sandra Jackson, Fran Robertson and Rosemary Muschamp are also scheduled to take part.

The Golspie Seniors Open took place with John Smith claiming a hometown victory in Category A with 36 points.

Alastair Travers of Irvine Ravenspark finished in second place with Michael Thorburn of Fortrose and Rosemarkie.

Torquil McAlpine of Fortrose and Rosemarkie won Category B with 40 points.

Christopher Day of Royal Dornoch and Golspie finished in second place with Gordon McHardy of Golspie in third.

In Category C, Chris Skelton of Fortrose and Rosemarkie won with William Hutchison of Inverness second and Rod Houston of Golspie third.
