Frozen pitches due to sub zero temperatures last night result in football matches across the region being called off - All Highland League matches have been postponed
Football matches across the Highlands have been called off today due to sub zero temperatures leaving pitches frozen across the region.
In the Highland League, Brora Rangers’ trip to Keith was called off last night due to frozen temperatures impacting the surface at Kynoch Park.
Clachnacuddin’s match against Huntly at Grant Street Park has been postponed after it failed a 9.30am pitch inspection.
Nairn County v Turriff United has also been called off as Station Park also failed a pitch inspection at 9.30am.
All matches have been called off in the Highland League today, including Banks O’Dee v Fraserburgh, Buckie Thistle v Deveronvale, Formartine v Strathspey Thistle, Inverurie Locos v Rothes and Lossiemouth v Forres Mechanics.
All matches have also been called off in the North Caledonian League. They include Alness United v Invergordon, Golspie Sutherland v Bunillidh Thistle, Inverness Athletic v Clachnacuddin A, St Duthus v Bonar Bridge and Thurso v Halkirk United are all off.
In the North Region Premiership, Nairn St Ninian’s match at Stoneywood Parkvale is also off.
In League One, Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dumbarton is still scheduled to go ahead at the Caledonian Stadium at 3pm.
Fifty volunteers helped take off the covers at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday morning to ensure the match will go ahead this afternoon.
