Five star Golspie Stafford through to Highland Amateur Cup last eight

GOLSPIE Stafford are through to the quarter finals of the Highland Amateur Cup after defeating Black Rock Rovers 5–2 in Evanton.

Mike Rae put Black Rock 1–0 up after 30 minutes but Golspie levelled before half time through Sam Mackay.

Mackay put Golspie 2–1 up at the start of the second half with Gary Pullen making it 3–1 in the 51st minute.

Ryan McFee pulled one back for Black Rock, but Mackay completed his hat trick from the penalty spot to make it 4–2.

Shaun Urquhart completed the rout with nine minutes remaining to send Golspie through.

Golspie host Caithness outfit High Ormlie Hotspurs in the quarter finals after they thrashed Iochdar Saints 4–0.

Lairg Rovers are out of the competition after they lost 5–0 at Pentland United.

Quarter final draw – Golspie Stafford v High Ormlie Hotspurs, IRN Security v Wick Groats, Ness v Avoch, Stromness Athletic v Pentland United. Ties to be played Saturday, July 25.
