Tain athlete Constance Nankivell wins gold at the Scottish National Championships claiming victory in the 5000 metres

Constance Nankivell claimed gold at the Scottish National Championships after she was victorious in the 5000 metres.

The Tain athlete, representing Edinburgh Hare and Hounds, crossed the line in a time of 17 minutes 38.52 seconds to win at Grangemouth last weekend.

She was nine seconds ahead of Yvonne McNairn of Giffnock North who finished second and 18 seconds ahead of Nynke Mulholland of Inverclyde in third.

Nankivell started her running career at East Sutherland Athletics Club before moving to Edinburgh to study at university.
