Brora Rangers are due to open the new Highland League season at Dudgeon Park – but the campaign will only kick off next season if fans are allowed to return to grounds.

The Cattachs are the defending Highland League champions, but with all play-offs cancelled when last season was brought to a premature finish they were denied the chance to win promotion to League Two.

That means Steven Mackay's men will be bidding for back-to-back titles next season, and they will have a tough challenge first up when Inverurie Locos make the trip to Brora on Saturday, October 17.

There has also been confirmation of the planned dates for the 2019/20 Highland League Cup semi finals, where Brora are due to face Buckie Thistle on Saturday, November 7.

Elsewhere in the Highland League, Buckie Thistle are scheduled to host Clach while Forres Mechanics are also on home soil as they welcome Turriff United to Mosset Park.

Last season's bottom two clubs Fort William and Lossiemouth meet at Claggan Park, while Rothes start at Deveronvale, Keith visit Nairn County and Huntly go to Formartine United.

The Highland League have stressed that the games will only go ahead in October if Government advice allows them to proceed with spectators in attendance.

League chiefs added that all home clubs must have received SHFL approval for their grounds meeting protocol set within the Covid-19 safety guidelines.
