MILLAR Gamble says that he has made the right decision for his career staying at Brora Rangers after agreeing a new deal with the Highland League club.

The 20-year-old defender signed a two-year-contract at Dudgeon Park this week after his existing deal was about to run out.

The former Scotland under-18 international, who arrived from Inverness Caledonian Thistle two years ago, suffered from a knee injury last season, which kept him out for four months of the campaign.

Gamble admitted his injury woes last season did make him consider his future at Brora.

But he says staying with the Cattachs is the right choice for him.

“I did have some thinking to do at the end of the season as I was impacted by a knee injury which ruled me out for a bit of last season,” said Gamble.

“This season will be important for me in terms for getting games. I had a proper think and chat with people close to me, but I feel I have made the right decision.

“I know the people at the club and get on brilliant with them.

“I have learned a lot with the experienced players around me and I am pleased with the decision I have come to.”

Brora Rangers ended last season on a high winning the Highland League Cup beating Buckie Thistle 2-1.

But the Cattachs finished a distant fourth in the Highland League and 15 points behind champions Fraserburgh.

Gamble says regaining the Highland League title and getting a crack at promotion will be a definite aim this season.

“We were all disappointed with our performance in the league.

“The cup final win over Buckie saved it a bit, but the bare minimum at Brora is winning one trophy a season.

“How far we were behind Fraserburgh and Buckie was disappointing and we need a good start to the season which has to be all about going for the league title.”
