Sutherland Province League slides back into action

The Sutherland Province Curling League has had their first league game of the season since Inverness Ice Centre opened on October 5.

Due to shortage of curlers, the province have decided for this season to play with three curlers per team.

Locheye (2) recorded a 9-2 win over Alness as skip Alan Mackenzie, Christine Mackenzie and Steven Macleod cruised to a straightforward win.

There was also a comfortable victory for Locheye (1) as new skip Calum Stewart, Richard Mackenzie and Ash Sinclair beat NHCT (2) 10-1.

Lochfleet defeated NHCT (1) 6-5 as going into the last end leading 5-2 skip Duncan Clark, Hugh Mackay and Alan Macdonald lost four shots with Lochfleet skip drawing the house with the last stone to win both points.

Dornoch came out on top to defeat Rogart 7-6. Peeling going into last end, skip Sue Gardiner, Jim Campbell and Val Mackay secured both points with a final single.
