Brora Golf Club retain Dornoch Firth League title
BRORA Golf Club won the Dornoch Firth League for the second year in a row as they claimed victory in the tournament.
Brora saw off Golspie, Invergordon, Royal Dornoch and Tain to successfully defend their title on their home turf.
The winning team was captained by Ross Naismith and their squad included Calum Stewart, James MacBeath, Liam MacDonald-Macleod , David Joel , George Duncan, Chippie Mailley, Robert MacDonald, Connor Hall, James Ross, Craig Black.
Brora were in dominant form through out the tournament and got off to a great start with a 5-0 win over Golspie on the opening day. On the opening day, Tain and Royal Dornoch drew with each recording 2.5 points each.
They continued their good form on Day Two as they defeated Royal Dornoch 4-1 with Tain edging Invergordon 3-2 in the all Ross-shire clash.
On Day Three Brora defeated Invergordon 4.5 before facing their toughest match against Tain which they won 3-2.
Brora finished with 16.5 points to take the title.
Tain were in second place with 11.5 points.
Royal dornoch finished in third place on 10 points.
Invergordon were fourth on six points with Golspie Golf Club finishing at the bottom of the table on five points.
Brora Golf Club released a statement on their win saying: “It was great see the elite from all five clubs coming together and play matches in such great spirits.
“Team Captain Ross Naismith, led a pool of 11 players to victory over the three days so well done to our lads on coming out winners for the second year in a row.“
