Brora Rangers move to second in Highland League after big win in Aberdeen against Banks O’Dee
Brora Rangers have moved up to second place in the Highland League after a 2-0 win over Banks O’Dee in Aberdeen.
Andrew Macleod gave Brora the lead in the 14th minute before Shane Sutherland wrapped up the points 12 minutes from time.
They remain seven points behind leaders Brechin City who beat Formartine United 3-1 at Glebe Park.
Fraser Macleod gave Brechin the lead after four minutes with Dayle Robertson doubling their advantage six minutes later.
Aaron Norris grabbed one back for Formartine in the 34th minute but Brechin went into the break 3-1 ahead thanks to a strike from Ewan Loudon.
Clachnacuddin came from behind to defeat Forres Mechanics 4-2 to move up to fifth place.
Connor Bunce gave Clachnacuddin the lead midway through the first half. But Forres Mechanics equalised on the stroke of half time when cross from Kaiden Connolly found the head of Shaun Sutherland who nodded into the net.
The visitors then took the lead with 12 minutes remaining when Joe Malin managed to block Aidan Cruickshank’s shot to be saved, but Calum Frame fired home the rebound.
However Clachnacuddin stormed back in the final 10 minutes with Jack Mackay equalising in the 80th minute. Rorie Macleod then put Clach in front with four minutes remaining before Bunce got his second in injury time with a lob to secure all three points.
Nairn County returned to winning ways as they defeated Wick Academy 3-0 with all the goals coming in the second half.
Andrew Greig gave Nairn the lead in the 63rd minute before he grabbed his second with nine minutes remaining.
Matthew Wright killed the game off in injury time to give Nairn all three points with a result that moves them to 11th.
Huntly stunned Inverurie Locos 3-2 at Harlaw Park and went 2-0 ahead with goals from Sam Robertson and Angus Grant. But Inverurie were level with 11 minutes remaining with goals from Mark Souter and a Paul Coutts penalty.
But Huntly got the winner in the sixth minute of injury time with Robertson scoring a penalty.
Champions Buckie Thistle were made to work hard in their 2-1 win over Lossiemouth at Victoria Park.
Brandon Hutcheson gave Lossiemouth the lead after three minutes. But Buckie secured victory with second half goals from Joe McCabe and Andrew Macaskill.
Keith came from behind to beat Deveronvale 3-1 at Kynoch Park. Keane Matheson gave the Banff outfit the lead after nine minutes. But Keith stormed back with Brodie Alberts equalising on the half hour mark, before second half goals from Liam Duncan and Nathan McKeown.
Rothes moved off the bottom of the table as they beat Turriff United 3-2 at Mackessack Park. All the goals came in the first half with Jamie Young and Shane Harkness putting the hosts 2-0 in front.
Murray Cormack and Reece McCormack scored to level it at 2-2, but Taylor Thain’s strike before half time proved to be the difference.
Rothes are now two points clear of Strathspey Thistle who dropped to the bottom despite a 2-2 draw with Fraserburgh in Grantown on Spey.
