The Cattachs have agreed a deal with Elgin City to sign the 36-year-old on a two-year deal.

Draper had been at Elgin City since signing in 2022. The club released a statement saying Draper approached the club to discuss a personal opportunity away from football, and following open and respectful conversations, both parties agreed that a move was in his best interests at this stage of his career.

Speaking about leaving Elgin, Draper said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Elgin City and can’t thank everyone enough — the players, staff, supporters, and board — for how they’ve treated me.

“This has been a tough decision but one made for personal reasons, and I leave on great terms with everyone at the club.

“I’ll always wish Elgin City well and hope the team continues to build on the positive work that’s been done.”

Elgin City manager Allan Hale said: “Ross has been an outstanding professional and a fantastic person to work with.

He’s been honest with us about his circumstances and has made a decision he feels is right for himself and his family.

“While of course the timing isn’t ideal from a football point of view, we fully respect his decision and wish him nothing but success for the future.”
