BRORA Rangers started their pre-season campaign with a narrow defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Dudgeon Park.

Aaron Doran scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half to give Inverness victory.

The Irishman beat the offside trap to run on to an Austin Samuels pass and fired past Joe Malin.

Brora had the chance to take the lead in the first half when Jordan Macrae saw his shot cannon off the post.

Substitute goalkeeper Ruardrhi Nicol came on shortly afterwards and kept his team in the match with an excellent save from a Samuels shot.

Brora had a golden chance to equalise in the second half when they were awarded a penalty.

But Jordan Macrae's shot was blocked by Mark Ridgers with the goalkeeper then saving the rebound from Andrew Macrae.
