Brora Rangers defeat Inverurie Locos as two men sent off in fiery clash
Brora Rangers remain one point off top spot in second place in the Highland League as they defeated Inverurie Locos 3-0 at Dudgeon Park.
James Wallace gave the Cattachs the lead in the first minute with Jordan Macrae doubling their advantage in the 34th minute.
Macrae killed the game off with 14 minutes remaining when he connected with a cross from George Robesten, who has joined Brora on loan from Ross County, to fire home.
Both teams finished with 10 men with Jay Halliday sent off for Inverurie in the 52nd minute and Craig Mackenzie sent off for Brora Rangers three minutes from time.
Brechin City remain one point clear at the top of the Highland League with a 2-0 win over Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park. Spencer Moreland gave Brechin City the lead in the 14th minute and Dayle Robertson doubled their advantage on the hour mark.
Clachnacuddin have moved into third place in the Highland League as they defeated Deveronvale 3-1 in Banff.
After a goalless first half, Connor Bunce gave Clachnacuddin the lead five minutes into the second half with a screamer of a shot.
Jack Davison doubled Clachnacuddin’s advantage eight minutes from time when he got on to the end of a cross from Lewis Mackenzie.
Josh Meekings killed the game off with five minutes remaining when he grabbed Clachnacuddin’s third. Harry Noble grabbed a consolation for Deveronvale from the penalty spot with three minutes remaining.
Nairn County had to settle for a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Forres Mechnaics at Mosset Park.
Ben Barron gave Nairn County the lead after 15 minutes from the penalty spot after Andrew Greig was fouled in the box.
New signing Jack Walker, who is on loan from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, was sent off for Nairn County midway through the second half and Shaun Sutherland levelled for Forres in the 77th minute.
Banks O’Dee thrashed Wick Academy 6-1 in Caithness. Iain Vigurs and Andy Hunter gave Banks O’Dee a 2-0 lead at half time.
Lachie Macleod made it 3-0 before Wick pulled one back. But Macleod scored again before Mark Gilmour scored twice to give the Aberdonians a dominant victory.
Huntly defeated Rothes 3-1 with Angus Grant scoring twice within the first 19 minutes. Jake Thomson pulled one back for Rothes on the hour mark before Sam Robertson’s strike kept all three points at Christie Park.
Bottom of the table Strathspey Thistle picked up their first win of the season witha 3-0 victory over managerless Lossiemouth.
Aaron Nicolson scored a penalty after 12 minutes with Scot Docherty doubling their advantage nine minutes before half time. Juan Cardona got Strathspey’s third midway through the second half to give the Grantown on Spey outfit their first three points.
Elsewhere, Formartine United beat Keith 4-1 and Turriff United shared the points with Fraserburgh in a 1-1 draw.
