Brora Rangers beat Aberdeen Colts to progress to the next round of the SPFL Trust Trophy

Brora Rangers are through to the second round of the Trust Trophy after seeing off Aberdeen Colts at Dudgeon Park.

The Cattachs broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute thanks to a header from Jordan Macrae.

Brora then doubled their advantage eight minutes from time through Andrew Macrae.

Towards the end of a quiet first half, Brora Rangers thought they should have had a penalty when Andy Macrae went down under the challenge of Blair Mackenzie.

But the referee thought the striker was guilty of simulation and flashed a yellow card.

Aberdeen came close to taking the lead towards the end of the first half when goalkeeper Joe Malin had to be at full strength to deny Alfie Bavidge.

Brora charged up field with Andy Macrae firing on target but goalkeeper Tom Ritchie parrying the ball around the right posts as the teams went in goalless at half time.

The Cattachs broke the deadlock midway through the second half when Ross Gunn ran on to a long ball on the left wing from Ally Macdonald.

His cross found the head of Jordan Macrae who powered home from six yards out.

Nine minutes from time, Andrew Macrae sealed victory when he managed to latch on to a ball in the box before firing home from 10 yards out.

Aberdeen B were reduced to 10 men in injury time when Jack Milne was sent off for a last man challenge on Andy Macrae.
