Brora Rangers look to close gap at the top of the Highland League when they welcome Nairn County to Station Park
BRORA Rangers will aim to get back to action tomorrow in the Highland League when they are scheduled to face Nairn County at Station Park.
The Cattachs are still waiting to play their first match of 2025 after the trip to Keith last weekend was called off due to heavy snow.
Winter conditions meant all matches in the Highland League were called off last weekend as the table remained as it was.
Brora Rangers remain in second place in the Highland League, two points behind league leaders Brechin City.
Brora Rangers will hope to welcome Nairn County to Dudgeon Park tomorrow afternoon where they will be up against some familiar faces.
Former Cattachs manager Ross Tokely, who was in charge of Brora Rangers between 2016 and 2018, has been boss of Nairn County since the beginning of the campaign.
He replaced Steven Mackay who left Station Park at the end of last season before returning to the dugout at Brora Rangers.
He made his debut for Nairn in a 4-1 win against Rothes at the end of his December.
He said that he learned a lot during his time at Brora Rangers, but is looking forward to a new challenge at Nairn County.
He said: “When you’re a bit younger, you probably are a little bit more within yourself.
“I feel as though four and-a-half years at Brora, which is a club where you need to be winning games and trophies, has taught me there’s no hiding place.
“I’ve built up a real winning mentality over the last few years, and I want to drive that on at Nairn as well and help bring as much success to them as I can.
“The loan spell I had at Clach probably helped me with that as well. It brought more character out in me that I felt showed a different side of me.
“The experiences I’ve had at Brora are going to be massive for me going into a new environment, and hopefully I’ll be able to stamp my own authority on things as well.
“I’ve played with some top players at Brora, and I’ve learned so much from them. Now it’s about trying to bring that into the changing room at Nairn. We have so many good players, it’s just about trying to find that consistency.
“Coming to Nairn, I think I can become more of a leader as well, and that’s what I’m really looking forward to.”
Elsewhere in the Highland League tomorrow, weather permitting, league leaders Brechin City will look to at least maintain their two point advantage at the top of the table when they head to Deveronvale.
Third place Banks O’Dee are also on their travels as they head to take on Huntly with Clachnacuddin travelling to Caithness to take on Wick Academy.
Formartine United are set to take on Lossiemouth at Pitmedden with Forres Mechanics facing Keith at Mosset Park.
Fraserburgh are taking on struggling Rothes at Bellslea, Strathspey Thistle are set to face Buckie Thistle in Grantown on Spey with Turriff United take on Inverurie Locos at The Haughs.
