Brora golfer Christopher Mailley is crowned Sutherland champion for eighth time in centenary year

Christopher Mailley came out on top to win the Sutherland County Golf Championship for the eighth time.

The Brora Golf Club member strolled to victory to claim the title by six shots at Golspie Golf Club.

The competition celebrated its 100th anniversary and returned to the venue where it was first held.

Mailley was in full control during the tournament, hitting 68 in the first round before firing a 67 in the second round to record a score of 135.

Brora Golf Club players dominated the tournament finishing in the top five places.

Roddy Cameron claimed second place with 72 and 69 to finish on 141.

Connor Hall claimed third place with 73 and 69 to finish on 142.
