BONAR Bridge have confirmed that they have signed former Ross County midfielder Richard Brittain.

The 40-year-old has agreed a deal to play for the Sutherland outfit in the NCL next season.

Brittain spent seven seasons with Ross County, between 2008 and 2015 where he played 222 games and scored 42 goals.

Bonar Bridge secretary Tommy McLenaghan says they are delighted to capture Brittain’s signature as they prepare for their first game of the campaign against St Duthus at Migdale on Saturday.

He said: “We are delighted to have been able to sign Richard Brittain for the coming season.

“His past record speaks for itself and his experience will be invaluable for helping to develop the rest of the squad through out the season and as well as his impact on the pitch.

“Richard has been playing recently in the Inverness Amateur league through out the summer for Drakies where he has shown his quality.

”Looking ahead to the new season we are raring to get going starting with St Duthus on Saturday.

“We have a similar squad that has been improving over the past few years with some new additions which we hope can help push on from last season.

”St Duthus on Saturday will be a tough first fixture with the signings they have made, but it is always a good game between the clubs which we hope continues into the fixture on Saturday.”
