Youth group in Ullapool seeks feedback on restructure
AN active group dedicated to working with young people in Wester Ross is seeking feedback on a plan which could help develop what it does.
Ullapool Youth Development (UYD) says its youth work team and Active Schools group is going to be renting the hut at the back of the village hall which has been used for children's after-school groups for several years.
When coronavirus restrictions allow, it will be used solely for youth groups.
UYD, which operates under the auspices of High Life Highland, is looking to gauge interest in setting up a committee and have it run as a voluntary organisation. It says that would make it easier to get funding and to fundraise. Day to day running would be by High Life Highland staff and volunteers.
It says training and guidance on being on the committee would be done by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
It said: "It would be great to hear thoughts on this and if anyone would be interested. All youth work activities are youth-led and we have a very active youth forum which members of that would form part of the committee."
UYD has a Facebook page it can be contacted through.
