THERE was some "electric" trade at Dingwall and Highland Marts yesterday with the sale of 25 prime cattle and 1947 prime sheep and shortage in some meat supplies driving sales.

The verdict: “Lambs followed the national trend and were a bit easier for unfinished sorts. Well-fleshed lambs were still keenly bid for and are returning phenomenal values for the time of year. A mammoth show of ewes for this centre sold away to a larger than usual ringside of buyers and vendors were greeted with an electric trade throughout. All classes were dearer on the week with meat in seriously short supply."
