Wee group pulls off big gala

A small committee numbering just seven people managed to successfully pull off another great gala week for the Kyle of Sutherland area.
Gala Queen Samantha Mackay presided over a jam-packed programme ranging from a car treasure hunt, raft race, duck race and pet show to family bingo, clay pigeon shoot, wheelbarrow race and much, much more.
A big thank-you from organisers goes to all those groups which organised an event during gala week.
A spokeswoman for the committee said: “It really makes the programme the success it is, and provides a large variety of events.
“We’re also grateful to Creich and Ardgay and District community councils and the Hub for funding some of the activities.
“Also, there was more than 25 raffle prizes drawn after the pub quiz - a huge thank-you to all the companies and people who generously donated a prize.”
The committee is now turning its attention to next year’s events and is looking for new members to help out.
