Kirsteen Campbell from Thrumster in Caithness named volunteer of the year at the Highland Heroes awards

Kirsteen Campbell, who set up a group to help women suffering with endometriosis, was named volunteer of the year at the Highland Heroes awards.

The 41-year-old created a Facebook group for Caithness and Sutherland aimed at breaking taboos and encouraging more women to share their experiences of endometriosis, rather than coping with the painful condition alone.

It has now been extended across the Highlands to meet demand.
