A9 crash in Sutherland near Skelbo and Dornoch leaves one woman in hospital, Police Scotland officers in the Highlands confirm

A woman has been taken to hospital following a two-car crash on the A9 in Sutherland.

The busy trunk road was closed in both directions close to Skelbo, near Dornoch, following the collision at about 1.30pm.

In an update at 3.18pm, police confirmed that the route had since reopened and that one woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The A9 at Skelbo, near Dornoch, has reopened following a two-car crash which happened around 1.30pm on Friday.

“Emergency services attended and one woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Members of the public are thanked for their patience.”
