Police Scotland has confirmed it is investigating damage caused to two campervans at Dornoch earlier this week.

An appeal has been made for anyone with any information about the incident to contact police.

The two campervans were damaged while parked in Castle Street around 8.42pm on Monday.

The campervans are understood to have been parked in the town Square.

The incident was discussed at Wednesday night’s meeting of Dornoch Area Community Council (DACC) when members voiced their concern.

Later the council posted on its social media page: “DACC members are shocked and appalled to hear that two campervans were vandalised in Dornoch on Monday evening while parked in the Square .

Dornoch welcomes ALL responsible tourists and we hope that this unsavoury incident does not deter others from coming to our town.

“Furthermore, we hope that police manage to track down the culprit and that the person responsible is made to pay for such a despicable crime.”

Anyone who may have been in the area and can assist in this enquiry is asked to call police on the 101 number, quoting the reference number 3488 of 17 August 2020."
